Character bibliography

[edit]

There's actually a bigger issue here than italicizing or quote-marking the title of a feature, as opposed to the title of the comic-book itself. WikiProject Comics has long deprecated character bibliographies, which should be rendered in prose within "Publication history," giving context to the appearances. You can see I didn't delete the bibliography, as Project admins have done, but the information there needs to be trimmed and given in the PH. I figured someone well-versed in the character could do it, but I can volunteer if no one else steps up. --Tenebrae (talk) 22:31, 18 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dredd (2012, Movie)

[edit]

Is This the Rookie Anderson character from the 2012 Dredd movie? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.210.122.226 (talk) 05:50, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Are you referring to this section? You need to clarify your statement somewhat - the section, brief as it is, clearly explains her character and role.
As to her relationship to the comics version of Anderson, we could debate such things all day (and night) long. Generally it's accepted that the comics are canon, and everything is relative to the character depictions therein. There are always going to be differences between characters portrayed in different media, sometimes for the worse, and sometimes for the better. Subjective, of course - and that's another problem in itself.
Sorry if that doesn't answer your question, but I'm not actually sure what it is you're asking. Chaheel Riens (talk) 08:04, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Andersons age

[edit]

Does anyone have a definite age for Anderson? It's hard to tell in the comic, in minor appearances she still looks rather young (like in Get Sin), but in her own series the artist seems now to be drawing her deliberately old, late middle age at least. Hershey was said to be 53 in a recent story,. Both Hershey and Anderson didn't graduate form the academy early, Hershey first appeared in Judge Child and that was her first post out of the academy. Anderson appeared a year before that and had been a Judge for while at that point. The article has said for ten years she's nearly fifty, she's got be there now, hell given how she looks in her most recent appearance she could be pushing sixty. Dredd universe characters age at the normal rate (one year in reality, one year there), is there any dates it could be worked out from.

There's no definite age. But her first appearance was in 1980, which corresponds to 2102 in the comic. The youngest she could have been then is 18, so the youngest she can be in 2017 is 55. She may be older, as (1) the usual age for becoming a judge is 20, and (2) that might not have been her first year as a judge. She could easily be 60. I will have to see if there are any set dates, that story about her family when she was kid may have some, also I will see if I can find a new image or scan one. The current image is well out of date, she looks nothing like that anymore. I thought the preview image in a contents page during the most recent story was the politician she was investigating, it was a close up of her, the new (aged) look is very different to the old one. 86.140.46.142 (talk) 22:48, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It looks nothing like her. Richard75 (talk) 00:48, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Debbie Harry

[edit]
based the character on Debbie Harry, due to the mistaken belief that he had recently drawn the singer into an advertisement for the Forbidden Planet 2 store in London

Strange that it says 'mistaken belief' - there certainly is an advert for FP that features Debbie Harry - was this produced after the first Judge Death story, or is the editor mistaken? sheridan (talk) 11:53, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
