A fact from Jorge Alonso (footballer) appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 1 December 2015 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Hello, I recently did a copy-edit of the article. (See here) There were a few areas where I was unsure of what was being referred to or I needed some information that was not already in the article. I am a lazy copy-editor and have left notes in the source text, but I will post them here as well.
In July 2010<!-- did Alonso finish the 2 year contract with Hercules CF or break it early? Please clarify. Drcrazy102-->, Alonso joined Real Valladolid after agreeing to a three-year deal.
During October, after he scored in the last minute to help beat Celta de Vigo 3–2 also at the Estadio Nuevo José Zorrilla, manager Antonio Gómez admitted to his excitement<!-- about what? and whose excitement? Is Gomez excited and admitted to it, but what for? Did Gomez admit Alonso was excited, but what for? Please clarify. Drcrazy102 -->.
If editors could please fix those two sections, that would be appreciated. Remember to write the article for people that may not be soccer aficionados/fans and who do not understand some of the terms used. I have also changed the date style to a MM DD, YY format. Cheers, Drcrazy102 (talk) 05:25, 27 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. First of all, the correct date template approach in the English WP id DAY/MONTH/YEAR, not MONTH/DAY/YEAR. About your doubts: 1 - that's why I wrote "however" (and you removed it), it implies he broke his contract with Hércules to move to Valladolid; 2 - I have already asked for assistance to clarify that bit of his coach being excited, I don't think it should even be part of the storyline but I left it stay out of respect for the user that inserted it.
Last but not least, I have tried to reach a compromise between your storyline and mine, please leave the current version be. Attentively, from Portugal --84.90.219.128 (talk) 18:48, 30 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
