[edit]
The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: Disambiguation by nationality. Disambiguation hierarchy is first nationality, then DOB, as examplified in John_Spencer#Sportsmen by the cricketers. (non-admin closure) walk victor falk talk 02:44, 6 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

John Spencer (footballer)John Spencer (footballer born 1970) – Disambiguate from John Spencer (footballer born 1934). Bladeboy1889 (talk) 10:51, 29 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Note: This discussion has been included in WikiProject Football's list of association football-related page moves. --BDD (talk) 18:25, 31 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
But in this case? One is dead, and the other is retired as a player. Unless we discover that this John Spencer secretly played for the Tuvalu national team or something, the nationality of these two is not in question. --BDD (talk) 18:15, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I don't believe anyone is more likely to know the nationalities of each player rather than their DOB, in fact they're more likely to know that one played in the 50s (and therefore can't be born in 1970) than the fact that he was English. Bladeboy1889 (talk) 07:38, 2 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
