John O'Hara (soccer, born 1981) → John O'Hara (footballer, born 1981) – WP:NCSP Joeykai (talk) 02:15, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
- Support Soccer is incorrect. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 19:10, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
- Support He's Irish, and the Irish call it football not soccer. Joseph2302 (talk) 22:25, 4 February 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose. He's primarily played and worked in the sport in the U.S.,[1] where "soccer" is the preferred disambiguator per WP:NCSP. The term "soccer" is also widely used in Ireland, so it's not as if it will be confusing.--Cúchullain t/c 21:20, 9 February 2016 (UTC)
- Support - the majority of his playing career was at Sligo Rovers in Ireland, and he is Irish. Seems reasonable to me. — Amakuru (talk) 17:13, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
- It looks like he only had two seasons with the Sligo Rovers. He had four seasons of college soccer in the U.S. and another two in the American pros, and has been a coach there ever since.--Cúchullain t/c 18:06, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
- @Cuchullain: It does not matter where he has played the majority of his career, it only matters what his nationality is. Per NCSP, "If the person is neither American, Canadian nor Australian, use (footballer)" ; he is Irish, so it should be footballer. Joeykai (talk) 09:02, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
- Are you sure he's not American? He could easily have gotten his citizenship. And again, the term "soccer" is widely used in Ireland. There's no risk of confusion.--Cúchullain t/c 14:23, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
