John Lewis (department store)John Lewis & Partners – Company has a new name Steven a91 (talk) 00:45, 4 September 2018 (UTC)

Oppose as per COMMONNAME. –Davey2010Talk 00:50, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
Reinstated the RM template as like the Talk:Waitrose RM I feel this should have everyone involved too. –Davey2010Talk 15:50, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
  • Support Internal and external branding has already started to change and will be rolled out company wide, the new logos and branding is already on official websitesSteven a91 (talk) 16:54, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
  • Support - New official name in branding. It's also common for companies to have the 'and Partners' suffix after the name anyway so I don't have an issue with it - although unusual for a retailer though. Stevo1000 (talk) 19:49, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
  • Support If we are arguing that John Lewis is the common name (not overly sure it is), then it is still part of the name, so don't feel WP:COMMONNAME is totally relevant. Makes sense to go with Proper name which is John Lewis & Partners and still reflects the common name.Blethering Scot 20:46, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
  • Support the common name is currently still "John Lewis" (that may change, but hasn't yet) and if that were not ambiguous then the article should be at that title. However some disambiguation is needed, the new official name provides us with an opportunity to use natural disambiguation, which WP:ATDAB prefers over parenthetical disambiguation. Thryduulf (talk) 11:08, 5 September 2018 (UTC)
  • Support Per Thryduulf, if disambiguation is needed then using the official name a bit earlier than when it becomes common is an effective tiebreaker. No comment on Waitrose. Crouch, Swale (talk) 12:52, 5 September 2018 (UTC)
  • Support – Per reasons above, seems to officially be the new name. JE98 (talk) 15:37, 9 September 2018 (UTC)

Brexit

I irony is that Brexit is also hitting the housing market right now, which is bound to impact John Lewis.

Falling house prices make people uncertain.

Yet the previous CEO of John Lewis was a Brexiteer/Quitling.

The UK government is trying Trump like tactics, so supress John Lewis' reasonable view of current market conditions.
