2017-03-19 ~ Objectives for this article
[edit]To meet or exceed the standards set by other historic houses in Chicago. See
Category:Houses on the National Register of Historic Places in Chicago
To set a standard for all the houses in: chicagohousemuseums
Some of the more comprehensive Chicago historic house articles to compare and contrast:
- Emil Bach House
- Henry B. Clarke House
- Francis J. Dewes House
- Heller House
- Hull House
- Julia C. Lathrop Homes
- Madlener House
- Nickerson House
- Harriet F. Rees House
- Robie House
- Theurer-Wrigley House
- J. J. Walser Jr. residence
2017-03-12 ~ Infobox updates
[edit]Items that could be added or edited include:
- founder?
- accreditation?
- number of visitors per year?
- collection? approx xx objects
- Area: sf in galleries
- public transit << this seems to be a biggie. All major museums have entries here. See museum links below for example. Please help.
- Type is currently set to 'Historic house museum'. Could any other category be added such as 'Art museum'?
2017-03-12 ~ External Links
[edit]- Fixed broken Historic American Buildings Survey link
- Added new links to CAF, Issuu, 3D Warehouse, CHM
Any other good external links to be added?
2017-03-07 ~ Infobox
[edit]The current infobox uses the Infobox Museum and Infobox NRHP templates
Good examples of this usage are found here:
- https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Solomon_R._Guggenheim_Museum
- https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Field_Museum_of_Natural_History
- https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/American_Museum_of_Natural_History
All of the above embed the NRHP template in the Museum template. All place location data now in the museum section - though I do feel it would be better placed in the NRHP section.
2017-03-06 ~ Ongoing minor edits
[edit]Over the past week or so I have been in the process of adding links, references, categories and infobox data to this article. It's helping me learn Wikipedia style and format. I hope I've done nothing controversial - so far. ;-)
