Why is this a redirect? The school and the person are two very different entities.Pnswmr 12:56, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

When John Glenn High School opened under principal Frank Higgins, it served students in grades 7-11.

Jim Harper

[edit]

@WilliamJE: re your edit [1] with edit summary It don't say he went to this high school. The file is a map., the link http://www.michiguide.com/archives2011/2011/12/newsmakers-and-links-dec-19-20.html is not a map. When I open it, I see the following:

Newsmakers and links: Dec. 19, 2011
...
HomeTownLife.com:
As he wraps up his radio career, Jim Harper wasn't making an commitment about his retirement plans except for Dec. 16, 2012. "(Wife) Lynn and I will be cruising Ford Road waving like royalty," said Harper, after Dec. 16, 2011, was proclaimed Jim Harper Day in his hometown of Westland. A 1971 Westland John Glenn High School graduate, Harper has worked nearly 45 years in radio and mainly in the Detroit area. He officially retires on Friday, Dec. 23, with his last morning show at Magic 105.1/WMGC-FM where he has worked since July 2001 as morning host and program director.

This says he is an alumni. Fine, but is he a notable person. Were you to create an article on Harper would be notable enough to stand up at AFD. Localities have many local celebrities and media personalities. I can name a few who have done local television in my area for 20+ years (I've lived here for 27) but their longevity by itself isn't enough for notability....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 21:11, 20 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
[*an alumnus]
Yes, I believe the media coverage is sufficient – certainly to justify retaining a list entry. [2][3][4] ("Legendary morning personality Jim Harper") [5][6]Fayenatic London 20:57, 22 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree and have removed him. Please WP:WTAF. Having been written about a few times by local media does not confer notability. John from Idegon (talk) 08:19, 29 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
