Given the flattering nature of this article, the attention to product placement, and the erratic punctuation, what's the bet that it was written by Birmingham himself?

It is unlikely to have been written by the author himself, as it contained some rudimentary factual errors (which I have corrected) such as the details of the school he attended. I have corrected those details. His publicist on the other hand might have had something to do with it.

just my not very humple opinion, but wouldn't an AUTHOR know how to punctuate an autobiographical article?--Doctormonkey 21:45, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why shouldn't the article be flattering? You might not like it, but there isn't really anything controversial in his life and work. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.148.5.118 (talk) 15:30, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article in the Australian

The link to Birmingham's opinion piece in the Australian was broken as the article was archived. I've tried searching the archives but I can't find it. Give it a go if you think you'll do better: http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,20867,20365709-7583,00.html

I removed this section because it contains no sources and is also about something which has no yet even happened. Ashmoo (talk) 14:32, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Without Warning, the first book in a new stand alone universe, was released in Australia in September 2008. The novel, separate from the Axis of Time Trilogy, is a thought experiment which is set on the eve of Operation Iraqi Freedom in March 2003. It deals with the disappearance of the bulk of the US population as the result of a large energy field that becomes known as The Wave. Without Warning deals with the international consequences of the disappearance of the world's only super power on the eve of war. It is scheduled for release in the US in February 2009.

A second novel, tentatively titled After America, will follow the first.
