Should Jesper Kyd be in, Category:Danish composers, as well, or he naturalized American? Siyavash 21:16, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
- I guess I just made this decision, before seeing this question. :) I filed him under "Danish" because he became (IMO) a notable composer before moving to the U.S. I would consider someone "Danish-American" if they moved to and became a citizen of the U.S. before establishing their career. Could argue for the latter, I suppose. --Vossanova o< 13:21, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- I agree he should be categorized under Danish composers. Se for example Hans Zimmer who lives in Los Angeles and is notable for his career in Hollywood. He is listed as German composer. Tranqulizer 15:09, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
There's a whole back story to Jesper, including his involvement in the Commodore Amiga demo scene as part the coding group Silents in the early 90's which is not mentioned in this article. 212.159.16.124 13:02, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
Hitman movie
- Just a curious aside - I noticed Kyd had no involvement in the score of Hitman the movie's music (from what I've read so far). Considering how Kyd's music has impacted the Hitman series, I found his lack of presence in the movie noticeable and maybe worthy of commentary. 192.206.151.130 (talk) 14:43, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
- Good idea, ill have a look for info. ΤΕΡΡΑΣΙΔΙΩΣ(Ταλκ) 01:23, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
IOI wont be using him for Hitman: Absolution (new upcoming Hitman game) either. Kinda blows because his music is half the game, it just doesn't feel the same without it. The atmosphere is gone.--77.103.237.230 (talk) 04:51, 8 May 2012 (UTC)
New pages
Im going to begin creating pages for his scores, connecting them all together with a chronology and create a navbox for all of his works. Right now im cleaning up and sorting out the few existing score articles for his work such as Unreal Tournament 3 and Kane & Lynch that others have made but not done properly; obviously their contributions are appreciated though. thanks ΤΕΡΡΑΣΙΔΙΩΣ(Ταλκ) 04:15, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
Navbox et cetera
Just created {{Jesper Kyd}}
Will add more score pages and stuff to augment it, also some .ogg audio samples to spruce it all up a bit :) feel free to discuss the template and any additions in the discuss section for it. ΤΕΡΡΑΣΙΔΙΩΣ(Ταλκ) 19:22, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
EDIT: Also added more external links to good interviews, a quote section and the wiki project banners at the top of the talk page to hopefully get this page moving better. :) ΤΕΡΡΑΣΙΔΙΩΣ(Ταλκ) 01:22, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

UPDATE
Hey all, just adding an audio section with two really good samples that show his versatility from the assassins creed score, as some idiot decided it would be a good idea to delete them from the assassins creed page that was recently merged with the page for the game itself...anyway, they should be on here somewhere so i will add an "Audio" section to this page. "Kyd combines sounds of dark ambient, electronic and symphonic music..." Let's just put in one example per style. Dark ambient - Unreal Tournament 3 (Outpost/ Necris Attacks) , electronic - Hitman 5 , symphonic - Assassins creed (1/2). Since these soundtracks are on the official websites, is it OK to post samples here? Requesting acknowledgment. Kernelmode (talk) 12:41, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi there, I have a quick question. (I am new to Wikipedia, sorry if this is going to the wrong place).
I would like to offer my help to create a more accurate and up to date wiki page on my music. There is no mentioned of my music since 2012 on the wiki text. Since there is a conflict of interest here, should I make suggestions to the Jesper Kyd Wiki Talk page first or can I add missing info from 2012 - 2018 directly into the wiki page. I will of couse keep the text neutral.
Jesper Kyd

- @Officialjesperkyd: Welcome!! Since there is a conflict of interest that you freely disclose, the best path would be to propose the changes here on the talk page so other editors are able to implement the changes. I'm not a frequent music editor, but I will add this page to my watch list and update the information as I'm able. Other editors will also be able to add the information as well. If there is anything else, feel free to leave another message here or contact me directly by clicking the word "Connect" next to my username. Again, welcome to Wikipedia! - Yes, feel free to suggestion changes to anything that's untrue/outdated/needing to be added, and assuming it can be independently verified (Wikipedia prefers the use of third-party reliable sources, see WP:RS) they shouldn't be a problem for any experienced editor to handle in your place. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 16:37, 12 July 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for helping out. Here's some minor suggestions to Freedom Fighters in bold below.
He recorded the score for the action/adventure Freedom Fighters with the Hungarian Radio choir which was described by Film Score Monthly Magazine as "Vangelis on steroids". Billboard Digital Entertainment Awards nominated Kyd’s score for Best Use of Soundtrack, and Game Audio Network Guild Awards nominated Freedom Fighters for "Best Original Vocal Song - Choral" (for Main Title and March of the Empire). Leading video game web site GameSpot awarded Freedom Fighters "Best Music of the Year".
-
And here's a few gramatic errors and tweaks we found marked in bold below:
Jesper provided a cinematic Middle Eastern score for for Ubisoft
at Capitol Studios which won music of
SYFY Channel's TV series Metal Hurlant Chronicles
-
And here are some suggested tweaks:
He then produced the Italian Renaissance music for Assassin's Creed II, recorded in Los Angeles
2009 G.A.N.G. Awards and Hollywood Music in Media Awards. (The theme ‘Ezio’s Family’ was voted the most popular theme music in the Assassin’s Creed series and can also be heard in the scores for Assassin’s Creed Unity, Assassin’s Creed Rogue, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and Assassin’s Creed Origins.) Jesper then wrote the scores for Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Assassin's Creed Revelations (co-composed by Lorne Balfe)
followed up with Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and the DLC Claptastic Voyage.
Virtual Reality with the score for the PlayStation VR, HTC Vive and Oculus Rift game Robinson: The Journey and then back in time with a dark medieval fantasy score
score for Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide, based on Games Workshop’s Warhammer universe.
In film Kyd scored the Chinese 3D fantasy film Chronicles of the Ghostly Tribe (2015), directed by Lu Chuan and Indian fantasy thriller Tumbbad, directed by Rahi Anil Barve (2018).
In 2018 Kyd also scored State of Decay 2 and Warhammer: Vermintide 2. At Canadian Music Week Kyd received the 2018 Nile Rodgers Global Creators Award for his work in video games scoring. Previous recipients of the award include Paul Shaffer, Spike Lee and Tony Visconti.

- Thanks, I'll try and find sources for the claims (third-party verifiability and all that). However, there are some issues here. Firstly, (The theme ‘Ezio’s Family’ was voted the most popular theme music in the Assassin’s Creed series and can also be heard in the scores for Assassin’s Creed Unity, Assassin’s Creed Rogue, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and Assassin’s Creed Origins.) is a fan-based vote from Facebook, and we don't include things like this unless covered by third-party sources. Secondly, I don't see the need to include the directors after the mention of each film, as that's not really relevant to the fact you wrote music for them. But the rest are valid, and I've taken the liberty to fix a few more things according to the Wikipedia Manual of Style. I'll continue doing more fixes (or another editor will) at a later time. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 15:49, 13 July 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for helping out. A quick note from here...right now it looks like Vermintide 2, State of Decay 2 and Tumbbad were released around the time of Ghostly Tribe which was released in 2015. So I suggest a tweak that is more accurate and makes it clear that those 3 released were released much later or in 2018.
Also, would it be possible to include a text about my "Ezio's Family" theme being heard in the scores for Assassin’s Creed Unity, Assassin’s Creed Rogue, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and Assassin’s Creed Origins.
