The result of the move request was: Moved. Given comments here and in the 2016 AFD discussion, it seems there is a rough consensus to move. — Wug·a·po·des23:58, 13 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Jeryn Hogarth → Jeri Hogarth – Per consensus at the 2016 AFD, and the status quo of the article even four years later, the comic book character is not notable, and the gender-swapped and kinda-renamed character from the Netflix show is the real focus of this article; the lead should therefore be rewritten and the comics stuff put into a special "Background" section, but of course the first step is to change the article title. However, I'm not entirely confident that the 2016 consensus is still valid, and this may just be a case of laziness in failing to update the article, so I'm opening a new RM. Oppose - This is an interesting situation. The article was certainly created in October 2015, so it can't be said that it was primarily about the comic character. I am of the view that neither incarnation of the character is worthy of a standalone article based on the present content. I would therefore suggest that, instead of a rename, we leave the article history in place. We should merge the relevant portions into List of Jessica Jones characters#Jeri Hogarth and List of Marvel Comics characters: H#Jeryn Hogarth as needed, with adequate cross-mentions. The alternative spellings can then just redirect to the respective character list entries. -- Netoholic@10:53, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) @Netoholic: Obviously as the filer of the AFD who came back four years later to find that the editors who !voted keep had made no effort to improve the article in all that time, I am sympathetic to your position. (To be fair to them, one of them largely left the project shortly thereafter, one of them largely left the project a little over a year ago, one of them hardly ever edited all that much even back then, and one was indeffed in 2018.) If I have your assurances that you'll do the heavy lifting, you can consider this RM withdrawn and speedy-close it -- whether to open a merge discussion or just do it unilaterally with my blessing (and presumably that of User:Argento Surfer) I'll leave up to you. Oppose. That's putting the cart before the horse. Rearrange the article first. As it stands, the article's title accurately reflects the lede and first sections. 94.21.10.195 (talk) 03:26, 18 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@94.21.10.195: No, it's definitely not putting the cart before the horse. Changing the title requires community consensus and a technical action by either an admin or an editor with the page mover achievement unlocked -- making content edits based on the assumption that the page will be moved later would be counterproductive. Support. The article is primarily about this character, all the references are about her (primary sources admitedly) and she seems clearly the more notable. This move is what Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jeryn Hogarth decided way back in 2016 and events since then just support that as a good call. Hopefully now something will happen on the other work that is needed. Andrewa (talk) 15:10, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
