Please, I see that there are these "(place religion here) by country" for a lot of religions and churches, such as the Catholic church and the LDS Church. I ask that I be given time to complete this page, and I will update it whenever necessary, and I will cite my source, which is the Watchtowers Yearbook. Thank you.

Sincerely, CM

This is great information you're putting together here. I'm just wondering if it would work better in Demographics of Jehovah's Witnesses, so all that information would be together. What do you think? FCSundae (talk) 05:36, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

Not a bad idea

Editing the tables

When newer statistics are made available, the easiest way to update the tables is to copy them into an application such as MS Word and update the new data there. Divide the new data by region, and then paste the entire columns into each table without deleting extra information (i.e. links) from the first column. Use the WikEd Gadget (in Wikipedia preferences) to allow pasting the formatted table back into the wiki edit field, convert to wikiformat (WikEd tick button) and then replace the generated table heading with:

{| class="wikitable" border="1"
|-
! Country
! Population
! Publishers
! Congregations
! Av. Bible Studies
! Memorial Attendance

I hope that's all clear.--Jeffro77 (talk) 20:00, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

Please

Do not revert, please, I am currently in the process of updating the page --Thank you —Preceding unsigned comment added by Montyofarabia (talkcontribs) 07:29, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

You have changed the data but not the source. Please supply your source, or the material will be reverted to match the source indicated.--Jeffro77 (talk) 15:41, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

The source is the 2009 yearbook stats, which can be viewed by the source at the bottom of the page.

 Thank you

UK

I was just assing through and realised that the UK isn't listed on here at all. Gibraltar, Montserrat, the British Virign Islands and other British overseas territories are listed, even tiny micronations, but not the UK. could this lease be ammended. Stevvvv4444 (talk) 16:00, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

JW branches are not necessarily coterminous with national boundaries (eg USA doesn't incl PR or Hawaii or Guam etc). "Britain" might be closest approx to "UK".
United Kingdom states: "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland[13] (commonly known as the United Kingdom, the UK, or Britain)". "Britain" is the name used in the source for the statistics. It could probably be changed to "United Kingdom" if there is some compelling reason to do so, as there is no difference in the location actually meant.--Jeffro77 (talk) 05:14, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
As was mentioned, JW branch jurisdictions are not exactly synonymous with political entities. In this specific case, "UK" would be inappropriate because, for example, Northern Ireland is under their Ireland branch rather than their Britain branch (see "Ireland", 1988 Yearbook of Jehovah's Witnesses, page 112). I've changed the article back to "Britain", the term actually used in the cited references.
