Photograph of Jeffrey Miller
[edit]The caption of this photo claims to be "the last known photograph of Jeffrey Miller" taken before he was killed at Kent State. However, this is inaccurate, so I changed it. There is a photograph taken by Howard Ruffner that shows Miller standing in the crowd of protesters. It was taken just minutes before he was shot by the National Guardsman. He is wearing the exact clothes he was killed. It can be accessed at these link:

Although Filo's Pulitzer Prize-winning photograph is certainly moving, there is an alternate angle of Miller's body that shows how horrific his death was. Warning: it's gruesome. Here it is, scroll down:

Birth contrdiction
[edit]Was he born on February 28, 1950 or March 28, 1950? I'm thinking March 28, because the February 28, 1950 date of birth was introduced by an anonymous editor who put in the infobox. I am getting more results advocating that he was born on March 28, 1950, so I believe that I will put this on the article, along with a source. Requested move 28 September 2017
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: pages moved. (non-admin closure) Steel1943 (talk) 02:46, 6 October 2017 (UTC)
– The subject in this case is notable only due to their death by shooting at Kent State. That by itself does not make them more notable than all other people sharing this name. bd2412 T 20:19, 28 September 2017 (UTC)
- Note: I would consider Jeffrey Glenn Miller, which redirects here, as just as good an option as adding a parenthetical disambiguator. bd2412 T 20:24, 28 September 2017 (UTC)
- Comment: only if Jeffrey Glenn Miller was his WP:COMMONNAME. HandsomeFella (talk) 06:43, 29 September 2017 (UTC)
- Support This Jeffrey Miller is no more notable than the others, so the move should be made. According to WP:MIDDLE and WP:NCPDAB, Jeffrey Miller (shooting victim) would be preferred over Jeffrey Glenn Miller. --catslash (talk) 20:54, 28 September 2017 (UTC)
- Support but
Jeffrey Miller (Kent State student)would be a whole lot better. In ictu oculi (talk) 11:24, 29 September 2017 (UTC)- He wasn't notable for his association with the school, but for the circumstances of his death. That said, I would apply the bartender's closing-time principle here: "you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here". bd2412 T 11:50, 29 September 2017 (UTC)
- Agreed, so there's clearly snow support, whichever redirect will redirect to each other anyway; Jeffrey Miller (Kent State shooting victim) as below better still. If it gets to 7 days with no preference then go with your proposal as made. No need for relist. In ictu oculi (talk) 11:52, 30 September 2017 (UTC)
- Support per nomination. It would seem that when the Jeffrey Miller (disambiguation) page was created in May 2013, he became the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC by default since the other three entries present at the page's creation had middle initials. Other possible qualifiers, even if longer, might be Jeffrey Miller (Kent State shooting victim) or simply Jeffrey Miller (Kent State victim). —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 15:36, 29 September 2017 (UTC)
- Comment. The Find a Grave entries for the four student fatalities, depict two — Sandra Lee Scheuer (whose current Wikipedia main header indicates Sandra Scheuer) and William Knox Schroeder with their full names inscribed. There is no illustration of Allison Krause's gravestone, while the fourth gravestone's inscription, "Jeffrey Miller", rather than Jeffrey Glenn Miller, leads me to believe that he was not known by his full name. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 21:05, 29 September 2017 (UTC)
- Support – no primarytopic here. I have less opinion on what disambiguator to use, but I think the one proposed is OK and another RM can he held on that if needed. Dicklyon (talk) 23:25, 30 September 2017 (UTC)
- The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
