See also... Chinese as a foreign language?

[edit]

I'm a little curious why the "See also" section includes a link to Chinese-language education. Apart from the fact that they are both major Oriental languages and both use Chinese characters, I'm not sure why the very specific field of Japanese language in Mongolia should be linked to Chinese as a foreign language, which has virtually nothing of relevance to the ordinary reader. Given stark differences in Mongolian attitudes to China and Japan, it's hard to see what the connection is. The previous set of links to Japanese education in other countries was of more relevance. The links to Japanese education in other countries are still there, I just moved them into a template so we don't have to go update every single article when a new one in the "Japanese language education in xyz" series gets created. Other than that, I don't have any particular opinion on the inclusion of the link; maybe English as a foreign language should be added too. And maybe those non-country-specific links would inspire someone to create the country-specific Chinese language education in Mongolia and English language education in Mongolia (not to mention Russian language education in Mongolia, German language education in Mongolia, Korean language education in Mongolia, etc.) Cheers, cab (talk) 02:11, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know if those two links will inspire anything. As they stand, they seem entirely irrelevant to the subject matter of the article. --Latebird (talk) 04:25, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
