Oldham
[edit]Oldham is a suburb of Manchester. Unless there is another Oldham I haven't heard of, it is not "in the Black Country". Where does this description come from? Rachel Pearce 12:30, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
Ah, followed up the links, it was Oldbury not Oldham. Article corrected accordingly. Rachel Pearce 12:35, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. Was a typo-of-sorts on my part. You know when you type the word you're thinking, rather than the one you mean? Skittle 13:42, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
West Bromwich Albion FC
[edit]Allan Ahlberg is also a supporter of West Bromwich Albion FC, as stated in Adrian Chiles's book, We Don't Know What We're Doing. Hence me adding it in without citing a source ThePennyDrops —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.170.148.130 (talk) 13:58, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
- I think you can just cite the Adrian Chiles book. Rachel Pearce (talk) 14:01, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
- Done with data from Adrian Chiles. What more does Chiles say about A. Ahlberg? --P64 (talk) 21:47, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

This book is adequately cited in the wikibiography of only one illustrator (Deborah Niland, trivial in-line reference, probably used more substantially). My public library holds a copy, library use only, and I now hope to read it this month. Elsewhere we cite a later book by Marantz & Marantz and McFarland:
- Marantz, Kenneth; Marantz, Sylvia. Creating Picturebooks: Interviews with Editors, Art Directors, Reviewers, Booksellers, Professors, Librarians and Showcasers. McFarland & Company: 2006. ISBN 0-7864-2734-5
My regional public library network holds three other books about children's picture books by Sylvia Marantz or both (Search: Sylvia Marantz).
People templates in joint biography
[edit]- For some time there is template {{Infobox requested}} above. -P64 2013-02-07
This is a joint biography. At the moment it carries no template {{Infobox writer}} and three templates {{Authority control}}. I have raised the matter of multiple templates on two other Talk pages.
- Template talk:Authority control#Joint biography
- Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Infoboxes#Joint biography
Today or tomorrow -12-06/07 I will further revise this article myself, but I won't add any Infobox or modify the Authorities "section". --P64 (talk) 18:14, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Authority control data

Awards
[edit](10/07/14 - 07/10/14) I have added Allan Ahlberg's decline of the Booktrust Lifetime Achievement Award including a (brief) quote from the The Bookseller "Blog letter" in which he stated his reasons for doing so. I have referenced both The Bookseller blog letter itself and the story as told by The Bookseller - both from thebookseller.com . Robin J Thomson (talk) 19:17, 10 July 2014 (UTC) Robin J Thomson .
This was inserted into my article edit after "...the award's principle sponsor..." - "Amazon.com who doesn't pay fair taxes in the UK."
Was it really necessary to insert this contentious statement ? --Robin J Thomson (talk) 20:00, 13 July 2014 (UTC)
I have removed "...who doesn't pay fair taxes in the UK..." on the principle that Ahlberg's reasons were given in the external links cited and that people can read the wiki linked Amazon.com page and make up thier own minds about Amazon.com's tax controversies Robin J Thomson (talk) 12:33, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
The comment "(no-one has won three)" on the Greenaway medal is now out of date, as Chris Riddell won his third this year. (That doesn't take away from the achievement of winning two, of course!) 81.106.44.213 (talk) 09:37, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
Split
[edit]Does anyone have any thoughts on splitting this into two separate articles; perhaps keeping a short third article at this address by way of disambiguation? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 18:03, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
- Do we have an example trio of articles that includes a "short third article by way of disambiguation" in contrast to disambiguation page? --preferably two biographies and a short third article. --P64 (talk) 17:30, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
- The closest that comes to mind is Lennon–McCartney. Pichpich (talk) 17:35, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
