Move

[edit]

A Move request has been made to rename the page to James A. Clark, Jr.. This is his correct name and there is full consensus (his father was "James A. Clark" and is notable enough for an article as well). It was done manually, this request is being done to preserve the edit history. -- Stbalbach 14:43, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This has been done by someone else and I closed the move request. —Wknight94 (talk) 01:32, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Middle initial

[edit]

Moved from the help desk

I am the daughter of James Clark Jr. You have him listed as James A. Clark Jr. I have corrected the contents and references, but can't change the title of the article, my father's name. Please make the correction. Thank you. Martha Clark — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.121.222.88 (talk) 01:33, 4 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request the change at Talk: James A. Clark Jr., with a reliable source. Robert McClenon (talk) 01:43, 4 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
A check of the article shows that from the start there has never been a source for the middle initial. None of the references are verifiable online but the obituary makes no mention of a middle initial. I am not sure what the procedure for investigating this further is, but a page move may be reasonable. In spite of what was posted in the thread above that brought about the page move there has never been an article for the father so there is no evidence that he had the middle initial "A" either. A couple of the editors involved in the move are semi-active but I don't know whether pinging them would do any good as I wouldn't expect them to remember their edits of ten years ago. MarnetteD|Talk 02:14, 4 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
