Origin of Name from David Lindsay novel?
[edit]I'm about to create a page for the fictional primary colour "jale", which features with the other fictional primary colour, "ulfire"; before I did so I wanted to check if this band's name is drawn from that book, or whether it's a botch-up of "jail/gaol". Then what to do - does this become the disambig page and there's got to be a "Jale (color)" and "Jale (band)" page; but who gets priority; I'd think that Lindsay's invention of the colour/word should.Skookum1 20:28, 26 November 2005 (UTC)
The now defunct Halifax, Nova Scotia band JALE derived their name from an Acronym of their names: J.ennifer, A.lyson, L.aura, E.ve they were on the road to international acclaim when the wheels fell off the JALE wagon....they released most of their stuff on the Sub-Pop label out of Seattle.142.68.95.238 16:32, 13 December 2005 (UTC)joad2
Jale in a music sampler
[edit]Jale's tune "Ali" was track 3 on "Campus Tour Sampler '96" (102.1 the edge). [1] I listened to this myself, and I just now am hunting down info on them which is how I got here. =) -- Sy / (talk) 06:27, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
Mistakes in article
[edit]I've never edited a wiki article, but I just changed the formation date to 1992. I saw them in Nov 92. jale was originally called Tag and had Melanie Rusinak (later of Cool Blue Halo, Chaz Rulz, and Trike) on bass.
jale opened for Velocity Girl at the 1993 Halifax Pop Explosion festival. They were touring together before that. The local legend thing is inaccurate, but I don't know the specific details about their formation.

– IMO there is no primary topic, certainly not the Canadian band. Clarityfiend (talk) 08:05, 21 March 2021 (UTC)
- Support the constituency gets more views (331) and name gets nearly as many (211) as the band (234)[[2]]. Crouch, Swale (talk) 09:23, 21 March 2021 (UTC)
- Support per nom and the above. This is a most unlikely primary topic. BD2412 T 16:34, 21 March 2021 (UTC)
- Support per nom. No clear primary topic (and there was, it wouldn't be the band). Move disambiguation page to basename. Paintspot Infez (talk) 18:23, 21 March 2021 (UTC)
- Support per nom and both the above. In ictu oculi (talk) 18:24, 21 March 2021 (UTC)
