Snaefell Mountain Railway?

[edit]

No. 15 on the Snaefell Mountain Railway? This seems very unlikely because of the different gauges. --84.57.17.47 (talk) 14:43, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it does seem unlikely but apparently an extra rail was laid on the upper part of the line for the occasion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.10.15.186 (talk) 21:28, 19 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There is a video of this event (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eX-cqqSbfPs). From the description: In 1995, as part of the Centenary celebrations for the Snaefell Mountain Railway, an additional running rail was laid between Bungalow and Snaefell Summit to allow 3ft gauge IoMR #15 'Caledonia' to make the ascent propelling a MER trailer car and so providing a rare instance of the three Island transport operations combining on one line. --62.204.167.72 (talk) 01:34, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
