[edit]The 11 km heigth above the average surface elevation compared to 8.8 km heigth above sea level of Mount Everest would be about the same if Venus had 10% as much ocean volume as Earth or Earth's ocean volume was reduced by 90%. Ccpoodle 17:52, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
Isn't that a rather artificial comparison? Venus has no oceans and Maxwell Montes sits around 13.5km above the lowest point on Venus (according to map image in Venus article). If Earth had no oceans the top of Mt Everest would sit some 19.7km (8.8km up, 10.9km down) above the Mariana Trench. Earth's oceans average some 3790m in depth; the height of Mt. Everest above Earth's average land "surface" elevation (without oceans) would be 12.5km. NevarMaor (talk) 01:25, 8 February 2011 (UTC)

[edit]The main Venus article says there are 2 highlands regions while this article claims to be 3. Which one is correct?95.76.220.229 (talk) 08:07, 17 October 2016 (UTC)Apass
