[edit]

May I request that someone add the Protests against the 2021 Israel–Palestine crisis link in the Protests section of the article? Neocon1 (talk) 05:35, 15 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Add back one image that was previously deleted in the protest section: [[File:2021-05-15 Trier Solidarität mit Israel! DSC 0200 (51180093927).jpg|thumb|Pro-Israeli demonstration in [[Trier]], [[Germany]] on 15 May 2021]] 218.250.39.28 (talk) 02:49, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Question: Why was it previously deleted? ― Qwerfjkl  (please use {{reply to|Qwerfjkl}} on reply) 06:17, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This is a new image, not the original one
Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit extended-protected}} template. I would much rather see an image showing an actual crowd or scale of the demonstration, rather than a close-up with seven blurry people in the background. The image is of little encyclopedic value for documenting the demonstrations. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 11:04, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

May I request that this gets added somewhere in the article: On May 16, around 28 U.S. Senate Democrats, led by Jon Ossoff, sign a statement calling for a ceasefire ([1]). Neocon1 (talk) 15:47, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Japan's reaction was wrongly put. It was only Israel-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Association's Nakayama Yasuhide's personal opinion, not the official statement of the Japanese Govt.

The cited source[3] itself quotes The Japanese government called on both Israel and Palestine to exercise restraint, avoid aggravating the situation, and return to peace negotiations. Japanese media quoted a high ranking government official in the same day as saying that Nakayama’s views are different from the government’s position. Dabriaer3 (talk) 16:56, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Ben ❯❯❯ Talk 19:54, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Shadowrvn728, sorry for the confusion. I want to change from
  • "On 12 May, State Minister of Defense Yasuhide Nakayama expressed support for Israel, tweeting "Israel has the right to protect itself from terrorists.""

to

  • "The Japanese government called on both Israel and Palestine to exercise restraint, avoid aggravating the situation, and return to peace negotiations."

and the reliable source can be unchanged i.e. [4]. Thank you, Dabriaer3 (talk) 15:03, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: There doesn't seem to be a reason to replace the original text - the extra text could just be added, and the source should be paraphrased, not quoted. ― Qwerfjkl | 𝕋𝔸𝕃𝕂  (please use {{reply to|Qwerfjkl}} on reply) 17:23, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Qwerfjkl your account is only few months old so I guess you need time to grasp the policies because indeed the present text doesn't make sense since it is an individual's comment. If we have to keep personal opinions then it will have to include several more from other office bearers and notable individuals. The cited source itself quotes that the Japanese Govt. has a different official statement from and that should be added when the Japanese flag is being used. In addition, the present text mentions him as state defense minister which is not true because he's deputy defense minister in Japan. Anyway, I am making this as unanswered so that an experienced editor can answer. Dabriaer3 (talk) 18:14, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Dabriaer3 I concede that the present text should be removed; however, the article should still not quote the source, which I think is a copyright violation. ― Qwerfjkl | 𝕋𝔸𝕃𝕂  (please use {{reply to|Qwerfjkl}} on reply) 18:46, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks and I agree with you. Please go ahead and make the necessary changes if you wish. Best, Dabriaer3 (talk) 21:14, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not done for now: Looks like the discussion between involved parties on the consensus is sufficient for now. I don't see why the Edit request needs to be opened in this case.  LeoFrank  Talk 10:23, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
