Original research

[edit]

I was not able to find a reference for " rising to 833 by November 2013." The existing reference is from several months ago, and supports the original number. I suspect that this is original research. If a reference is available, I suggest we add this, rather than replacing the original. James Cage (talk) 13:50, 15 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted & removed flag. If anyone wants to add the information back, please add a valid reference. James Cage (talk) 15:49, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

– There is WP:NOPRIMARY topic here. Both because the literary group conflicts with the name of the company, and due to Splatoon being a thing, so Splatoon fans searching for the fictional race is a potential search term. I think that the name of the literary group merits a "The" because it falls under the criteria of WP:THE. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 13:18, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Partially agree I agree that the article title should have "The" added to it, partially because it meets the criteria at WP:THE, and partly to diferenciate it from the Inkling race in Splatoon. However, I don't see the need to move it to "The Inklings (literature)". Simply re-titling the page "The Inklings" will do. As such, I think the company "Inkling" can stay where it is. --Kohoutek1138 (talk) 14:30, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Kohoutek1138: Inkling can refer to the company, the fictional race or a member of the literary group "The Inklings". "The Inklings" can refer to both the fictional race and the literary group. In both cases they require a disambiguation.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 14:42, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Zxcvbnm: Sure, but as others below have pointed out, the Splatoon race doesn't have an article and I think it unlikely that anyone searching for them would type "The Inklings". A hatnote at the top of this article directing to the article about Splatoon would suffice. So, I'm still a partial support, I'm afraid, with this page being moved to The Inklings (a disambiguation in parenthesis is unnecessary). --Kohoutek1138 (talk) 17:16, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The literary group seems to be used with both "The" and "the", but still passes WP:THE #1: "a word with a definite article has a different meaning with respect to the same word without the article". But really it is WP:NATURALDIS per WP:PLURALPT and WP:COMMONNAME that we should move the literary group to The Inklings. While the article does have "four Inklings", "an Inkling" is not as common as the collective noun.94.21.253.28 (talk) 06:59, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
