Referencing needs serious work
[edit]This article is subject to WP:BLP with all of its very stringent requirements for inline citations to RS sources for any discussion of controversial issues involving a living person. I am attaching a tag to reflect this which should not be removed until referencing is up to scratch. Thanks... -Ad Orientem (talk) 18:37, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
"the first such action ... since 2004"
[edit]Saying "the first such action ... since 2004" (opening sentence) sounds really silly in this context. There have only been two presidents since that impeachment, and now only one in that time frame who wasn't impeached, but the phrase "first such" is trying to say that it's been a while. It'd be similar to saying that Trump is the first Republican to win the U.S. presidential election since 2008... it's true, but would not be a useful contribution to his article.
I'd remove the phrase entirely, since it contributes nothing, but I don't have time right now to worry about where to move the link to President of South Korea and the citation.

Should China's reaction to / interest in this be noted in the article?
[edit]See e.g.:
While the reasons for her impeachment were domestic — a massive corruption and influence-peddling scandal — China's interest centres around her decision to allow the United States to deploy the Terminal High Altitude Area Defence (THAAD) missile shield.

- Generally events that attract the attention of foreign government have a section called "Reactions" or something similar, and is populated with the official governmental reactions from each country and other relevant reactions. I'm not entirely sure it would be wise to include information about a China's motivations, without a statement from China. Otherwise it's just an opinion. It's hard to prove motivations and intentions. {MordeKyle} ☢ 20:54, 11 March 2017 (UTC)
- Maybe look to Impeachment of Bill Clinton as a sort of template for this article. That article doesn't have a reactions sections, and I'm sure someone had political interests in that impeachment, as well as other countries. Food for thought. {MordeKyle} ☢ 20:58, 11 March 2017 (UTC)
