General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
QPQ: Done.
Overall: This nomination looks good to proceed. It's new, long enough, with enough citations to sources that look reliable. This doesn't hold up the nomination, but using 2005–2024 as the publication date for the PCAD web page doesn't seem the right choice. I see that date range on the website's copyright, but nothing specific to the particular page. I think it is more appropriate to list this as undated. Biography

[edit]
  • Julius Nelsen, a Danish-born carpenter - Any information on Ibsen's mother?
    • Unfortunately no. - G
  • I'd link plains to Great Plains (non-Americans may not know the reference)
    • Done. - G
  • Pacific War|Pacific Theater - We have a specific link to Pacific Theater (quoted above)
    • Done. - G[[
  • He received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his actions during the war - The citations might be online; would be worth understanding why he received these.
    • Couldn't find them :( - G
  • Mountlake Terrace, Washington - Is it worth mentioning Washington here? We established that he was active in the Washington area earlier in the paragraph.
  • Sabin and Varey - It was previously identified as Sabin, Nelsen, & Varey. Also, it may be worth standardizing "and" vs. "&"
    • Done. - G
  • I've edited the page. Please review.Crisco 1492 mobile (talk) 14:58, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
    • Looks good to me. - G

Comprehensiveness

[edit]
  • I see that his collected papers are held at Western Washington University, which may be worth a mention.
    • Included. - G
  • This obituary mentions cause of death, the name of his children, and indicates that he was friends with Grove. Also indicates how he met his wife, which segues with his military service. (Also, his involvement in preserving the Pike Place Market is mentioned in several obits - it may be worth including as an example of his preservation work).
    • Added some of that. From what I have heard the names of children are usually extraneous for less famed figures; however, the SF obit mentions that his sons were artists. - G
  • This obit mentions he saw action in New Guinea, and that he was an infantryman.
    • Incorporated. - G
  • This (and apparently two more videos) includes an interview with Nelson, which may provide insight. We are allowed to use primary sources for content, so long as it's limited to statements of fact (see WP:PRIMARY)
  • I'm not seeing any discussion of his style as an architect, which is a large omission for someone involved in a creative field. I see some discussion in the obits, which could provide the basis for discussion.Crisco 1492 mobile (talk) 15:14, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
    • Incorporated this. - G

Source review

[edit]
  • Earwig finds a low probability of copyvio.
  • The sources used appear reliable; spotchecking supports content.
