Inconsistency

[edit]

The intro section says that the title is a combination of "The Omega Man" (the title of the book) and "I Am Legend" the title of a movie based on the book. The only thing is, this movie came out before I Am Legend. Did the producer steal the name from a movie that was still in production? JazzMan 19:00, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I Am Legend is the name of the book.--CyberGhostface (talk) 21:55, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, duh. I got that mixed up. Still though, the article says "the title being a portmanteau of The Omega Man and Will Smith's 2007 I Am Legend, two other film adaptations of the same novel". Clearly this can't be right, right? I would guess that it's a portmanteu of the movie The Omega Man and the *book* I Am Legend. But I can't find a source that says this. Ok nevermind. I didn't see the most recent additions which explains it :) JazzMan 00:07, 17 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The title of this movie SHOULD be "Omega Man". Can someone move the article? There was the book "I am Legend", then the movie "Last Man on Earth", then "Omega Man", and then the new movie "I am Legend". The 3 movies were based off the book. This title is just plain wrong and annoying! No such thing as "I am Omega". I've seen them. 72.74.203.233 (talk) 01:28, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I take it back... sorry... apparently there was a 4th movie that no one ever watches where it's the same but instead of him having the cure in his blood, some girl has it. 72.74.203.233 (talk) 01:34, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ending

[edit]

If anyone's seen this, is the ending anything like the book's ending? I think it would certainly be notable if this turned out to be the only film adaptation that didn't completely reverse the meaning of the ending. Do they actually do it, or do they wuss out like the other three movies? 153.42.230.49 (talk) 22:44, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I will tell you, they all have different endings. In "I am Legend", they went back to the book ending, showed an audience a preview, and totally redid it to have nothing to do with the book. In "Last Man on Earth", the ending was not like the book. I forget the ending of "Omega Man", though. It might be on Youtube. 72.74.203.233 (talk) 01:30, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The lead character realized that the new mutants were humanity's future in "Omega Man." I am old enough to remember it.

"Confusing titles"

[edit]

I can see how the title of this film could be confusing to some people who don't know the history of adaptations of the story. But how is "Transmorphers" a confusing title? Did anyone, anywhere confuse that one with "Transformers"? 68.111.53.178 (talk) 13:41, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. Grandparents buying DVDs as gifts. Asian animation companies do the same for major Hollywood animated films based on public domain folktales. --Tysto (talk) 02:29, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
