@Apcbg: Would you care to expand on "the person is notable"? There are no independent sources cited in the article, and I couldn't find significant coverage when I searched. Note that per WP:NFRINGE, we need strong independent sourcing to include articles on fringe topics. – Joe (talk) 20:09, 31 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
A search for "Христо Смоленов" would yield quite a number of results demonstrating the interest of independent sources, Bulgarian media including TV programs, newspapers and news agencies (top ones like http://www.focus-news.net/ too) to seek Smolenov's comment and analysis. Nothing fringe about it. By the way, he has been bestowed the degree of Honorary Professor by the Bulgarian Naval Academy, see here. Best, Apcbg (talk) 12:54, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Obviously he has mainstream credibility for his work on antiterrorism etc., but the theories about a lost civilisation at Varna are decidedly fringe (see below). – Joe (talk) 13:04, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
