On notability

[edit]

I love HC as much as the next guy, but copying a bio is not suitable for Wikipedia. There are two separate HC pages now (see Horsell common), BOTH of which would need to be completely re-written if we were to keep either of them. Note to other editors: this page is a result of a MySpace campaign by the band to get a Wikipedia page written, hence the completely unprofessional and unresearched article being entered by random MySpace kiddies. plattopustalk 23:33, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

excuse me i re-wrote the whole article last night and id hardly refer to myself as a "myspace kiddie", perhaps you should take a read of WP:Civility and WP:No personal attacks as that statement has offended me. I just redirected the Horsell common page back to here. Any NPOV problems you can see in the article i have no problem if you point them out on the talk page and we can re-word them, ill also work on some sources when i get the chance. cheers --Dan027 08:01, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't mean to bash anyone personally. When I looked at the article it was what I suspect was a straight copy/paste of a Horsell Common bio. Looking at your edits it's clear that you've done the right thing and written a proper article, so my comments were obviously not directed at you. plattopustalk 16:17, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, i read your comment here before i saw u posted the same thing on the other horsell common page.--Dan027 08:21, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

On notability 2

[edit]
this article has been tagged for deletion, but I don't believe it should be. The articleWP:MUSIC has been used as a reason to delete the article. BUT this article is actually covered by WP:MUSIC. Under the "criteria for musicians and ensembles" section it states that "a musician or ensemble is notable if it meets any ONE of the following criteria". Horsell Common meets TWO of the criteria, of which I can demonstrate at the moment. Criteria 10 is met because the Australian show Thank God You're Here has picked up the Horsell Common song "Everlasting". So starting with it's third season, the show has used the song as the music to lead into add breaks. Criteria 11 has been met because Triple J, a MAJOR NATIONAL radio network, has put many of Horsell Common's songs into NATIONAL rotation. Including it's latest single "Good From Afar". Therefore I am removing the deletion tag. If you believe that the article still needs to be deleted please discuss here. Jashawk777 05:07, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have removed the Notability tag as Horsell's last EP Satellite Wonderland debuted at #1 on the Australian Indipendent Records charts and #14 on the ARIA charts in their respective category, im sure that will well and truly put to rest any talk of deleting this article on those grounds. --Dan027 09:15, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
