Aselsan's air defence gun system scores first hit
[edit]Aselsan has trialled its new gun-based air defence system and fire control system (FCS), the company announced on 5 October.
Trials included modernised towed 35 mm Oerlikon twin anti-aircraft guns, Aselsan FCS, and new 35 mm airburst ammunition.
They have all been developed for Turkey's Hisar air defence programme, formerly known as T-Laladmis.
One element of Hisar that was not trialled was the Korkut self-propelled air-defence gun system, although it will also fire the airburst ammunition and its onboard systems are the same as those in the standalone FCS.
