Sourcing of information

[edit]

This article badly needs more sources to be cited, and it is now three-and-a-half years since a tag was put on. Alfrew (talk) 00:39, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

History section

[edit]

The sub-heading "Threatened existence" has been replaced with "Development of a new building and a joint school". (This can quite possibly be improved upon.) I had already removed the phrase from the text, since there is no information suggesting that the existence of the school was ever under threat. This appears to be a hostile reference to the merger with another school. Alfrew (talk) 00:55, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Opposition to merger with the High School for Music & Art

[edit]

I created this section because it does not fit in well with the general history of the school, and it betrays a hostility to the merging of the two schools. Having this in a separate section will help to establish neutrality. Alfrew (talk) 01:13, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of flowery peacock words

[edit]

I agree that the prose seems to be intentionally stricken with romantic fluorishes, probably by an alumni. Although admirable, this feting is a bit unencyclopedic. I attempted some pruning to bring some objectivity to the article, but please let loose if my paring steps on any editorial toes (how’s that for a mixed metaphor).
