[edit]This programme features the use of both Google (spoofed search results on clearly identifiable Google search) and Wikipedia person search (again, spoofed results but clearly Wikipedia). As social commentary (which I believe is justifiable Wikipedia content) should there be some content highlighting this? There seems to be a shift from using 'anonymous' or fake search engines, to direct referencing of actual websites, which seems new for (at least) BBC television programmes. Should this shift (if accepted) be marked? Michaelfromtheuk (talk) 20:41, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
- I guess if there are some references for it then the information could be added. Paul MacDermott (talk) 21:06, 30 October 2011 (UTC)

– The first of these requires disambiguation from the second. The second, which was originally at the article title Craith, its Welsh title, was moved to its WP:ENGLISH title, but using incorrect disambiguation as per WP:NCTV – in this case, "by country" disambiguation would make it "UK TV series", as per WP:NCTVUK, but as these are both British TV series, "by country" disambiguation does not work here. Instead, "by year" disambiguation should do the trick, as per WP:NCTV. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 04:03, 28 July 2018 (UTC)
- Support - per WP:NCTV. If we start using "Welsh TV series" then that slope will lead to articles with "Scottish TV series", "Northern Ireland TV series" and even maybe "Texan TV series". --Gonnym (talk) 18:27, 28 July 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose the one-size-fits-all move. The 2018 programmes are a different series, not a follow up of the same one several years later. The purpose of page names and disambiguation is to help people find the article they require. Hidden (2018) is particularly known as a Welsh TV series. Sionk (talk) 13:07, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
- @Sionk: Please review WP:NCTV – "by year" disambiguation in no way implies that "later (year) series" are "follow-ups" of earlier ones – quite the opposite, in fact. Second, Hidden (Welsh TV series) will still exist as a redirect. But the current name of this article is completely invalid as per WP:NCTV – please also see Gonnym's point above. --IJBall (contribs • talk)
- Suggest you read it yourself, thanks, especially "Prefix the country of broadcast (adjective)". It's a guideline which should be treated with common sense. Sionk (talk) 21:05, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
- Wales isn't a "country". Sorry. Esp. in this case where we'd have the absurd scenario of Hidden (UK TV series) for the 2011 one and Hidden (Welsh TV series) if we disambig'ed "by country" – utterly ridiculous and unhelpful. I also notice you haven't commented on the first part of the proposal – that the first one isn't sufficiently disambiguated currently. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 21:29, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
- Of course Wales is a country. Let's not get sidetracked by daft arguments. Though on the basis of WP:NCTV maybe Hidden (Wales TV series) would be more appropriate. It was recorded in the Welsh language, first broadcast on S4C and then BBC Wales, so is undoubtedly originating in Wales. Sionk (talk) 21:38, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
- Unless you are stating a fact that Wales is no longer part of the UK, then for this propose, Wales is treated as the UK for disambiguation per established practices. Referring back to the "by country" part you quoted - please note that Wales does not even appear on that list. Also, please note Welsh television does not exist (but British television does. Also Television in Wales does exist and leads to the UK one) and both Coming Home (UK TV series) and Life on Mars (UK TV series) are listed as being produced by BBC Wales yet are still using "UK TV series". So this should be disimbiugated as proposed not only per WP:NCTV but also by WP:CONSISTENCY (annoying edit conflict) --Gonnym (talk) 21:53, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
- More complete baloney. There's no list of countries in WP:NCTV so I'm not sure what you're referring to. Neither does Wales being part of the UK negate it being a country. Coming Home is clearly a Wales TV series, I doubt anyone outside of Wales has even heard of it. Life on Mars, on the other hand, was broadcast prominently on BBC One across the UK. But hey-ho, let's just do the one-size-fits-all, rather than actually use common sense, or help people find the correct article. Sionk (talk) 22:57, 31 July 2018 (UTC)
