Capitalisation
[edit]Jungle Nymph is a proper noun, and requires capitals Edwbaker 18:17, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- Not sure if it requiered capitals in all words. Compared to proper noun here in Wikipedia, the common names are apparently only capitalized if they are a combination of a capitalized location (such as European mole or African wild ass) or a dedication name (such as Anderson's shrew mole or Grévy's zebra) and a(n) (animal) name. But even then, only the first word is capitalized. Even the mountain zebra, which is more or less a combination of, well, a habitat and an animal name and is therefore comparable to our jungle nymph, begins with lowercase letters. As a German, I can only assume that this is a compromise in Wikipedia, which is based on the widespread use of the English language. I guess in the UK, dear Ed, all words are capitalized. But I switched to capital letters at the beginning in Jungle nymph, because this was also the case in other names here mentioned in the article. Best wishes Drägü (talk) 06:18, 21 June 2021 (UTC)
Aggressive?
[edit]The page says : "The females of this species are very aggressive and should be approached cautiously." This is not my experience at all. They are slow moving and very passive insects. Certainly if they feel threatened they make some noise and flap their wings, but it is possible to handle them without any real danger. They are wonderful beasts.
- Correct. I erased this. Drägü (talk) 06:18, 21 June 2021 (UTC)

Heteropteryx dilatata → Heteropteryx – Heteropteryx is a monotypic genus [1] and had to get the primary name of this article, the only species Heteropteryx dilatata had to be redirected (see WP:MONOTYPICFAUNA: "the article should go under the scientific name of lowest rank, but no lower than the monotypic genus")
