The result of the move request was: moved. Jenks24 (talk) 14:43, 14 June 2015 (UTC)
– Heretaunga refers to two geographic features in New Zealand, and this one isn't the primary topic. In fact, Place Names of New Zealand states that the Upper Hutt name was probably borrowed from the Hawke's Bay (which could be used as an argument that the primary use lies there, but I'm not advancing that argument; however, it does support my view that the Upper Hutt suburb isn't the primary topic). Since first making the move request, I have changed the proposal from 'Heretaunga, New Zealand' to 'Heretaunga, Wellington' in compliance with Wikipedia:Naming conventions (New Zealand), as we are trying to achieve disambiguation with an area in the Hawke's Bay. As such, the official region name needs to be used. --Relisted. George Ho (talk) 03:35, 16 May 2015 (UTC) Schwede66 21:02, 10 May 2015 (UTC)
- Question what does Heretaunga mean (why isn't this in article?) and which name of the two existed first? (above source seems to say the second, why isn't it in refs?) In ictu oculi (talk) 00:04, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
- Answers - I will add the relevant info to those articles; it will be as per my comments above. Schwede66 00:59, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
- I don't think I agree with this proposal. We have articles for two places called "Heretaunga": a suburb in the Hutt, and an electorate in the Hutt. The place in Hawke's Bay is Heretaunga Plains, not just "Heretaunga". The naming therefore seems fine as is. Nurg (talk) 10:46, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
- Comment - it is of course correct that the Hawke's Bay article is named Heretaunga Plains on Wikipedia, but people think of the Hawke's Bay area as just Heretaunga, and all sorts of things make reference in the name to Heretaunga only, and not Heretaunga Plains. Throw the term "Heretaunga" into Google and every second entry will refer to something in the Hawke's Bay. I conclude that "Heretaunga" is a free-standing name in the Hawke's Bay, and the Upper Hutt suburb cannot claim primacy. Schwede66 19:09, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
Oppose as proposed. Since all the features called Heretaunga are in New Zealand, disambiguation on the suggested lines is not sufficiently disambiguating. Advice for how to distinguish between places in New Zealand of the same name is given at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (New Zealand)#Place names in New Zealand. - Support Heretaunga → Heretaunga, Wellington in lieu of understanding the argument not to move. Heretaunga, Wellington uses comma separated parenthesis and is suggestive of geographic area. Hatnotes of similar certainly need to be used to show the difference between the existing geographic area and the former electoral area.
- I would be equally happy for Heretaunga to act as a redirect to: Heretaunga (disambiguation)/Heretaunga (navigation) or to Heretaunga, Wellington (with hatnote providing reference to the navigation/disambiguation page), GregKaye 06:05, 16 May 2015 (UTC)

Thanks; I've fixed incoming links to the new disambiguation page. Schwede66 22:51, 14 June 2015 (UTC)
