DYK

[edit]

I can appreciate that people who compose DYK stuff will often need to make the facts briefer but in this case, the editor has more or less changed the fact in the process. Most people will read that sentence and incorrectly assume it to be about the Scottish Parliament rather than the UK Parliament. My advice to the DYK editors is to make the point of contacting the relevant editor who provided the fact to ensure that any abbreviation they make to the fact doesn't change its meaning, particularly as the DYK editor may know very little about the subject matter. Hi Graemp - sorry you were not contacted - it is thought to be best practise to do so. I thought you had been contacted but didn't check. I understand your point ... although this probably only applies in the UK. I think many people are not aware that Scotland has it own MPs. Your article should get 100s of hits today and the people who are interested will read your article and find out much more. Womens History Month is for the whole of March .... do you have any others? Sorry it this wasnt optimal but I think it is still good? Victuallers (talk) 10:21, 8 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I have tried to correct the main page by linking to the correct parliament and mentioning that she was an MP from Scotland. Victuallers (talk) 10:38, 8 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. BTW she was not an MP. Graemp (talk) 11:23, 8 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
