Really?
[edit]He was a Scharführer (Sergeant). Hardly the rank which a Commissioner would hold. This article is problematic in that it is based on the German WP and has no verifiable references. – S. Rich (talk) 06:24, 18 June 2016 (UTC)
- Can you be more precise in your grievance? That Adam Czerniaków, head of the Warsaw Ghetto Judenrat, mentioned Dr. Auerswald quite frequently in his diary is well known, as in this excerpt: "Later to Auerswald about the orchestra. The Kommissar sent me a letter yesterday suspending performances of the orchestra for 2 months for having played the works of Aryan composers." (11 April 1942). - The editing concern is lack of WP:RS. There was an image of a poster from the time with "Auerwald". But this is a primary source, What do we really know about him and how? A secondary source that actually describes him is needed. Besides the relatively low rank, there are other discrepancies. The text describes the Heinz Auerswald as a lawyer, but you say he was a doctor. The GNB Authority Control for him shows a medically related publication by Heinz Auerswald, which tends to verity your description as "Dr. Auerswald". The List of SS personnel has a party # and SS # for him, but the info lacks any reference. Without WP:VERIFICATION we really can't say anything in the article about the person. – S. Rich (talk) 01:36, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
- PS: There were other Heinz Auerswalds living in Germany at the time. See for instance this artist. – S. Rich (talk) 01:57, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
- S. Rich, as far as I can say the German "Dr." can be referred to a lawyer also. Carlotm (talk) 02:18, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
- That's true. Please see article. I've found a reference. Also, I remove the Authority Control on him. Was he a sergeant in the SS? I don't know. – S. Rich (talk) 02:27, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
- S. Rich, you should not be too concerned about Auerswald's military standing. In Warsaw, as commissioner for the Ghetto, he belonged to the German civil administration. Carlotm (talk) 08:09, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
