Centinela Valley Union High School District

[edit]

I am confused . There seems to be some kind of categorizations of CA schools that is not apparant. For instance Centinela Valley Union High School District apears under Category:School districts in Los Angeles County, California as an LA County school but not under Category:School districts in California California School districts. Does this make sense? I also understood that high schools are to be listed within their District articles. Hawthorne High School (Hawthorne, California) is part of Centinela Valley Union High School District . But the high school had a page long before the district. This school is relatively prominent, and if any school does, it deserves a seperate article ... solely because of the native pop artists [notably The Beach Boys] who made their school experience here a prominent part of their output and the California mythos. Perhaps there should be a routing page for this district? Dunno howHilarleo 15:08, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In most cases, articles that appear in a subcategory don't need to appear in the parent category. Since Category:School districts in Los Angeles County, California is a subcategory of Category:School districts in California, it makes sense for this district to appear only in Category:School districts in Los Angeles County, California. If this werent't the case, just think how huge and unwieldy a category like Category:School districts in the United States might get! Best regards, Stepheng3 (talk) 18:25, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
