Mixup by Courthousenews.com
[edit]https://www.courthousenews.com/havasupai-parents-demand-fixes-to-wretched-school/ mixed up this school with the Lake Havasu City school: the latter got an "A" rating, but the lawsuit concerns the Supai school (this one) and not the Lake Havasu City school. Logo
[edit]Hi! I saw the logo at Havasupai Elementary School. The logo belongs to the public school of Lake Havasu USD. However the Wikipedia article is about a different school, the federal Bureau of Indian Education-operated facility. The website of the federal school does not show the wolf logo but instead the logos of the BIE and the Havasupai tribe. WhisperToMe (talk) 01:08, 10 January 2023 (UTC)
I see. 2 same names but 2 different places. Apologies for the confusion. Though, if I’m not mistaken, it appears that the eagle on the school’s sign is the school logo. If it is, then perhaps that could be used on the article instead? Flagvisioner (talk) 01:45, 10 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Flagvisioner: The eagle seen in the photo would be excellent for this article! And yes, indeed confusions like these happen from time to time. Anyhow, happy editing! WhisperToMe (talk) 01:46, 10 January 2023 (UTC)
On getting a list of principals
[edit]"At Havasupai school in Grand Canyon, fired teacher paints a pattern of neglect" notes that the BIE, when asked for a list of the principals who had worked at this school, instead sent journalists a list of principals at Lake Havasu USD's Havasupai Elementary, a completely separate school and one which the BIE does not even operate. So I am not sure if Wikipedians will have better luck compiling such a list? WhisperToMe (talk) 01:14, 23 March 2023 (UTC)
On disambiguating
[edit]If any content is posted about the Lake Havasu City school districy school, please remove it, as this article is about the federal school in Supai. WhisperToMe (talk) 04:02, 28 January 2024 (UTC)
On ENwiki I've noticed that some good faith edits wrongly conflated this school with the "Supai Elementary School" in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, which is operated by the Lake Havasu School District.
Please ensure that this data strictly conforms to the Bureau of Indian Education school in Supai, Arizona, the article's subject.
Thank you, WhisperToMe (talk) 19:13, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
