[edit]Attempts to include some illuminated initial letters, in imitation of Pausanias. In around 1922, Porter donated - among other works of ephemeral content - a "sumptuous edition of Pausanias, of 1696" to the library of Wake Forest College.[1] The Pausanias article has a picture of a magnificent 15th century illuminated MS. The edition which I think Porter gave to the library[2] was not quite as exquisite as WP's, but nevertheless (it is said) superb.
