Talk:Han learning

This was synthesised from a search of documents on the Internet concerning "Han learning". The Chinese version of 汉学 is not about "Han learning" at all; instead it concerns Sinology, the study of China by Westerners.

This article is quite unsatisfactory in many respects and needs a lot of rewriting.

[edit]

I just noticed my edit summary makes almost no sense because I had to delete part of it to fit.

Basically, I noticed that the Wikipedia article on Ochiai Naobumi includes a bad link to an article on a Japanese university, even though it should refer to kangaku, the early-modern Japanese study of Chinese literature, history and philology. (As opposed to kokugaku, Japanese studies.)

The Japanese Wikipedia has an article at this title (ja:漢学) that links to this article, which seems to be anachronistic. Since I'm not sure how this came to be linked here, other than the separate Chinese field having the same Chinese character name, I'm curious to see more information on this topic, just in case they are, in fact, the same.
