Title Change

[edit]

This title should be changed to Alpha Arietis, instead of Hamal, to maintain consistency with Beta Gamma and Delta. These stars should use the Bayer Designation and not the Flamsteed to indicate the marked difference in naming conventions. It would tell any reader who wanted to understand star origins when things were happening. 98.13.45.165 (talk) 22:28, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Probably, but it needs to go to discussion really. It has already been moved once and moved back so there is clearly some uncertainty. Lithopsian (talk) 12:14, 5 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, the original name of Alpha Arietis should be restored per WP:COMMONNAME. Praemonitus (talk) 14:19, 10 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree, the name Hamal should be kept as it is the most used name for this star. Also, what does it mean to "maintain consistency" with Beta, Gamma and Delta? It didn't make much sense.InTheAstronomy32 (talk) 17:18, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
