Notes

[edit]

I have edited this page to remove the material (a majority of the article) that was simply copied from the Gulliver brochure. It's now much more objective. ADeadSmitty 16:29, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This article is taken word-for-word from Gulliver's website. See http://www.gulliverschools.org. As such, it constitutes an advertisement, not a neutral source of information. It should be either comprehensively revised or entirely rewritten.ADeadSmitty 03:02, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed material from this article that does not comply with our policy on the biographies of living persons. Biographical material must always be referenced from reliable sources, particularly negative material. Negative material that does not comply with that must be immediately removed. Note that the removal does not imply that the information is either true or false.

Please do not reinsert this material unless you can provide reliable citations, and can ensure it is written in a neutral tone. Please review the relevant policies before editing in this regard. Editors should note that failure to follow this policy may result in the removal of editing privileges.--Docg 17:44, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This article must be rewritten. It does not cite sources and is not in a neutral point of view. As an alumnus I do to believe I am credible for the job but this must be fixed. Samafito 22:56, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm guessing this name on the list of notable alumni is vandalism/a joke, since a google image search doesn't bring up a single photo of this "model." JoeIcarus (talk) 00:51, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Advertising and promotional language

[edit]

This article contains language which is the school's opinion of their own product, such as "Gulliver Schools prepares students for future success" and claims to various programmes being "prestigious". Wikipedia is not a venue for posting opinions, touting products and services for sale or advertising. This promotional language is a clear violation of encyclopaedic style and of the requirement for neutrality. I've flagged the page as advertising. Evidently the problems have been ongoing for years now. K7L (talk) 04:48, 1 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Campus Locations and Map

[edit]

* Specific text to be added or removed: Please remove these bullets (see below) from the Campuses section and change the first sentence in this section from "three" campuses to "two". If these changes could be reflected on the map as well, that would be great.

  • Gulliver Prep - Montgomery Campus - Pinecrest - Formerly Pinecrest Middle School
  • Gulliver Prep - Upper School Miller Campus - Olympia Heights - Formerly Pinecrest Prep Campus

* Reason for the change: We no longer have 4 locations. We now have 2.

* References supporting change: https://www.gulliverprep.org/about/campus-facilities/

 Done Normally the school's own web site wouldn't work for reliable sourcing, but I phrased the edit to let readers know that the number of students and the locations are reported by you. That doesn't help with sourcing or general notability. STEMinfo (talk) 23:20, 3 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Accreditation

[edit]

* Specific text to be added or removed:

REMOVE: Gulliver Prep is accredited by five agencies: the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS), the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the Florida Council of Independent Schools (FCIS), the Florida Kindergarten Council (FKC), and the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA).

ADD: Gulliver Prep is accredited by the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS) and the Florida Council of Independent Schools (FCIS).

* Reason for the change: We are no longer accredited by those organizations.

* References supporting change: https://www.gulliverprep.org/about/fast-facts/

Sgordon18 (talk) 20:06, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Accreditation is not really that crucial in terms of the Wikipedia article, since we are more interested in history, development, personalities, etc. If, of course, the accreditation was withdrawn because of some controversy, that would indeed be relevant. But since the situation is kind of unclear right now (you only offered internal self-referencing), I am going to delete the whole sentence. -- Melchior2006 (talk) 07:18, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Sgordon18: While I could also get creative with the phrasing here, I'm going to hold off on this one for now. Isn't there an independent site listing which schools are accredited by who?

Main image

[edit]

Can the main image of the school be updated to this: https://www.gulliverprep.org/wp-content/uploads/DSC04872.jpg Sgordon18 (talk) 19:07, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction

[edit]

Can the introduction be updated to reflect the changes in the Campuses section? Gulliver Prep doesn't have 3 campuses - it is only 2 campuses now. Also the management offices are no longer in Kendall. Management offices are now located at the Upper School Campus. Sgordon18 (talk) 19:09, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Remove Main Office Map Pin

[edit]

Gulliver no longer has a separate Main Office. It is now located at the Upper School Campus so the red dot labeled "Main Office" can be eliminated. Sgordon18 (talk) 19:12, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
