Name

This is perhaps one of the most ludicrous examples of trying to use Wikipedia to establish "Central" as an "English" replacement for Hauptbahnhof, rather than following sources and using the real name or using the normal translation "main station". Has it ever been called Z/Centralbahnhof or owned by a railway with Central in its name, or is this use of Central purely down to Wiki-fetishism? Wheeltapper (talk) 21:13, 7 August 2013 (UTC)

I agree with you that "Central Station" is not an accurate translation of "Hauptbahnhof", and that that word means "main station". I also believe that all of the articles in English wikipedia about Hauptbahnhöfe should be named in the form "Foo Hauptbahnhof". A similar form is used for articles about major railway stations in Italy, eg Venezia Santa Lucia railway station, not "Venice St Luke railway station". The decision to change most of the Hauptbahnhof articles to the form "Foo Central Station" was made after a brief discussion here. I was not aware of that discussion until after it had been concluded, and as you can see, that discussion focuses on one station and one country (Germany). A subsequent discussion here about Zürich Hauptbahnhof, in which I participated, resulted in a decision not to move that article. To the best of my knowledge, there is yet to be a discussion about Hauptbahnhöfe in Austria. Bahnfrend (talk) 02:10, 8 August 2013 (UTC)

Structurae

I've taken the structurae reference out, as it is to a basically content-free template page and seems to serve little purpose other than to push the point that some German-speakers translate Hauptbahnhof in a misleading way. Wheeltapper (talk) 20:04, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
