The Grand Inquisitor (Character) → Grand Inquisitor (Star Wars) – The current title violates naming conventions in two ways. 1) "Character" starts with a capital letter, which is discouraged at Wikipedia:Disambiguation#Format. 2) The leading "The" is discouraged by WP:NCTHE. Yes, the character is always called "the Grand Inquisitor" in dialogue, but the guideline is clear that that is not sufficient to include it in the article title as part of the character's name. If the definite or indefinite article would be capitalized in running text, then include it at the beginning of the Wikipedia article name. Otherwise, do not. In official sources, including StarWars.com, the definite article in the character's name is not capitalized except at the beginning of a sentence, e.g. "A Pau’an Jedi hunter with dark-side Force powers, the being known as the Grand Inquisitor served Darth Vader."
User:MandoWarrior asserts that there are no other characters called "Grand Inquisitor" in any other media, which would make the "(Star Wars)" disambiguator unnecessary, but a cursory search suggests this not to be the case (e.g. Diablo, Brothers Karamazov, Zork, etc.). Though there appear to be other characters with the title of Grand Inquisitor in Star Wars (see list currently at Grand Inquisitor (Star Wars)), all of these other characters have better natural disambiguation using their actual names which they are far better known by. Only this Grand Inquisitor is known primarily by the name "Grand Inquisitor" and should therefore take the article position at "Grand Inquisitor (Star Wars)". - Oppose I propose the page be moved The Grand Inquisitor (Character) → The Grand Inquisitor (character) to fix the typo, or better yet, The Grand Inquisitor (Character) → The Grand Inquisitor (Star Wars). While there are other fictional characters known as Grand Inquisitors, none of them have Wikipedia pages but Star Wars, and of Star Wars there are several Grand Inquisitors, only one known solely as The Grand Inquisitor. As with The Mandalorian (character), The Armorer, and The Client (Star Wars), the "The" is a big part of their name and what they are credited as. Keeping Grand Inquisitor (Star Wars) as disambiguation for the others, because that refers to the rank, not the person. MandoWarrior (talk) 15:21, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
- WP:OTHERSTUFF is not relevant to the discussion at hand. I'm seeing now that you just created all the other entries at Grand Inquisitor (Star Wars) to give the impression that there are so many other Grand Inquisitors in Star Wars that we need to specify this one, but they're actually all redirects for non-notable minor characters. There is no need for a disambiguation page at all. WP:NCTHE is the relevant guideline here. I don't see a rationale here that prevails over the guideline. Official sources do not capitalize "The" in the character's name ever, regardless of how big a part you think it is. Axem Titanium (talk) 22:41, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
- The official sources do all capitalise the "The" in the character's name, all the time. Here is their official StarWars.com page. MandoWarrior (talk) 15:56, 26 February 2022 (UTC)
- They capitalize it at the beginning of a sentence like you're supposed to do in English. Nowhere on that site or any other official site does "The" Grand Inquisitor get "the" capitalized in the middle of a sentence. WP:NCTHE is explicit for what to do when this is the case: omit the "The" in the article title. Please stop opening duplicate RM requests per WP:RM#CM: "Do not create a new move request when one is already open on the same talk page." Axem Titanium (talk) 21:48, 26 February 2022 (UTC)

Last apparition
[edit]I think the last apparition of the Grand Inquisitor is in the episode 15 of the first season of Star Wars Rebels. 2607:FA49:2040:AF00:D03F:1DE3:B877:341E (talk) 21:59, 13 March 2023 (UTC)
