Title Image

[edit]

The current image of the coaster rendering is out of date. Six Flags/RMC released that render earlier to hide the true design. The final design is shown in a recent press release here: http://static.sixflags.com/press/Goliath_Graphics_0214.zip I assume these are fair to put on Wikipedia since they were released intentionally to be spread around. If anyone could replace the image, please do so. 107.199.113.209 (talk) 16:03, 16 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox image

[edit]

@Keithley34:, the infobox image you keep reinserting is being considered for deletion. Visit the image's file page at Wikimedia Commons for more information and to add a comment. The reason I nominated it, is because you don't appear to be the copyright owner. Although you may have permission, this needs to be verifiable per Wikipedia's standards. Even if verifiable, it should be uploaded directly to Wikipedia with a "fair use" description, not one that says you are the original creator or "own work". Further more, per WP:WATERMARK, free images should not contain a watermark on them, which this proposed image clearly does. I'm removing this again per this policy. Also for future reference, as I've stated on your talk page, it's time you start discussing these changes on the article talk pages, especially after you've been reverted. See WP:BRD for more information on why this is a common practice. --GoneIn60 (talk) 21:35, 25 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal 1: View of Goliath's layout at SFGA in Gurnee, Illinois

Do you guys think this picture is better for the page? It shows more of the layout? --Keithley34 :) (talk) 20:50, 27 August 2015 (UTC) Keithley34[reply]

This looks like a better proposal to me. As long as the image is a free to use, I would support it. The old image probably should be moved, not replaced, into the body of the article. --GoneIn60 (talk) 04:56, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Keithley34: Well, it's not looking like it's a free image. At the website Coaster Talk, it specifically states, "All photos are under my copyright. Do not copy unless you have my direct permission." Looks like we can't use it. --GoneIn60 (talk) 20:40, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I must've mistaken somebody's website for another GoneIn60. Thank you, I'll keep looking. ;) --Keithley34 5:14, 28 August 2015 (UTC)

Proposal 2

[edit]

Here's another proposal for the infobox image. Give me your feedback! --Keithley34

Proposal 2: Goliath at Six Flags Great America (14883637655)
@Keithley34: Well, this image is free and appears to be acceptable for Wikipedia, however, there are a few issues I have with it. First, the train is not coming down the first hill. For the main infobox picture, that is preferred. Also, the first hill is chopped off. We can't see the top. And finally, the fence is pretty distracting. In my opinion, we need a pic similar to the first one you found that is taken further away and shows more of the layout. Until one is found, I think we should stick with the one we have in there now, which at the very least shows the top of the lift hill. --GoneIn60 (talk) 21:37, 1 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Underground Tunnel

[edit]

@JlACEer: You mentioned that tunnels may be above ground, and I understand that's a possibility, but generally not true. Are there tunnels at Six Flags Magic Mountain that are above ground that could confuse the reader? If not, the distinction isn't necessary. Leitmotiv (talk) 17:21, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
