Etymology
[edit]The article says "the original Venetian Ghetto was in Cannaregio, in the north of the city, and there is no evidence, but for the name, of Jews ever having lived in Giudecca". However this source says "In 1252, Jews were not allowed to settle in the main part of the city, so they settled on the island of Spinaulunga (also spelled Spinalonga) which later became Giudecca." I don't want to get involved myself, I am not a historian and am not qualified to judge the reliability of various sources. But one source must be better than none. I hope a qualified historian will take a look at this. Maproom (talk) 20:04, 14 April 2016 (UTC)
