Applehead almost entirely unreferenced
[edit]The section on the gang member Applehead is almost entirely unreferenced. The one reference contains only a single sentence about the guy, to wit: Two, nicknamed Mongo and Applehead, early this year formed another Ghost Shadows faction.
[1] That's it.
All the other statements: Wu's Chinese name, date of birth, pronounciation of his name, founder of Ghost Shadows, the details of the supposed "breakaway gang", the RICO charges in the 1980's, are unreferenced.
I found two Washington Post articles, which contain his recently-added Chinese name Shui Ping Wu. They discuss his indictment in 1977 of extorting some money from a restaurant employee in Montgomery County, MD.[2] Later he pled guilty in a re-trial in 1983.[3] From the latter article we know that Wu was convicted and served some jail time. I will add these facts and references to the article.
I will also flag the section as needing more citations. -- M.boli (talk) 18:24, 26 July 2023 (UTC)

1985 Indictments
[edit]In 1985 a slew of Ghost Shadow members were charged with racketeering and criminal activities: United States v. Louie. It seems it would have been a significant event in the history of this gang.[1] Putting this comment and reference here for future work updating the article.
Thanks to the IP editor who proposed these two references.[2][3] The "Mr Beller's Neighborhood" reference is an unusable blog story, but it does point to a Village Voice article which may be useful. The other reference is a pointer to a minor court filing in U.S. v. Louie. -- M.boli (talk) 16:51, 8 October 2023 (UTC)
