White Porsche Knight

[edit]

What about the pre-title sequence where a black man walking the street is killed and abducted by the White Porsche Driver with the knight's helmet? What is that about? Thanks, Maikel (talk) 20:36, 24 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The masked man was Rose's brother Jeremy abducting Andre Hayworth aka Logan King. 84.221.232.158 (talk) 22:16, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Excessive detail in the cast section

[edit]

Unsure, but the 'who is actually x in y body' and similar details in the cast section feels like it could be unnecessary extra detail? Especially as it gives away the plot of the film. Happy to be corrected though, I'm not experienced in article writing! Girlyswot (talk) 22:41, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No possession

[edit]

Popcornfud, Ae245, there was absolutely no possession in this movie/film and so I corrected it. Please read and restore this edit.-2406:7400:90:92A7:562A:3512:F744:78AC (talk) 05:43, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

But the brains aren't physically replaced, rather they possess the new host EvergreenFir (talk) 06:00, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@EvergreenFir: The brains are physically replaced. They show an, "operation theatre" where they remove an old man's brain (Hudson's brain) physically, implying that it will be put into the skull of Chris.-2406:7400:90:92A7:8406:8E9B:4A94:36B2 (talk) 06:48, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Crboyer: There was no possession, so this is a sci-fi film, not horror film, please undo your last edit.-2406:7400:90:92A7:1347:9452:C911:BCF3 (talk) 17:52, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No. Countless sources already deem it a horror film. Also, you don't need demonic possession to make it a horror film (Silence of the Lambs, anyone?).CRBoyer 18:04, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Popcornfud: Why are you reverting my edits? The movie is not about possession but brain transplants by which Walter becomes Roman and Georgina becomes Marianne. Please self revert your last edit.-2406:7400:90:92A7:3DA5:5BFB:82B4:6EC5 (talk) 06:36, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I reverted them because they contain grammatical errors, poor writing and unnecessary detail. Sorry. Popcornfud (talk) 06:41, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I changed, "Chris attempts to escape in Jeremy's Porsche but accidentally hits Georgina, who is possessed by Rose's grandmother, Marianne" to, "Chris attempts to escape in Jeremy's Porsche but accidentally hits Georgina, who is supposed to be Rose's grandmother, Marianne, after Georgina's brain has been replaced with Marianne's brain." What's wrong with that?-2406:7400:90:92A7:3DA5:5BFB:82B4:6EC5 (talk) 07:12, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's twice as long, "supposed to be" is vague wording, and "after Georgina's brain has been replaced" makes the chronology of the whole sentence bizarre. Popcornfud (talk) 07:15, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am against the word possessed. What do you suggest the sentence should be like? What is wrong with, "Georgina's brain has been replaced"?-2406:7400:90:92A7:3DA5:5BFB:82B4:6EC5 (talk) 07:37, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
For all intents and purposes, the film treats it as a possession. The brain transplantees take over the body they're transplanted to, depriving the consciousness of the original occupants of their autonomy. It's pretty much like what one thinks of when they think if possession. CRBoyer 17:02, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, and the original occupants of the body are still present. Popcornfud (talk) 02:19, 28 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Popcornfud and CRBoyer: Possession is the state of being controlled by a demon or spirit. For example, "they said prayers to protect the people inside the hall from demonic possession". Here, it is a brain transplantation by which the brain gets a new body. The old owner of the body is not concious of anything - his brain is gone.-2406:7400:90:92A7:B9E:DF75:831:59C9 (talk) 16:33, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

LIKE I SAID, it's practically possession. The Armitages, once they have their brains transplanted into another person, take over their body. They live the life of their host. Much like a demon takes over a human body. And also, those who get possessed are sent to the sunken place, forced to watch someone else live their life. I'm sorry, but your preferred revisions are at best overly verbose. Can we please close this topic?CRBoyer 16:42, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Crboyer: The sunken place is an imaginary place to describe where Mrs. Armitage makes her subject feel they have sunken to but after the brain transplantation, the body is taken over by the brain of Roman, Marianne, Hudson etc.; the African-Americans are no longer alive after that.-49.205.131.67 (talk) 17:56, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
