Possible new sections
[edit]What about a section about changes to the level crossing pending the construction of the overbridge?
- Did this level crossing have incandescent or brighter LED lights and were these upgraded to LED?
What about a section about a more ideal design of level crossing that might deal with the situation that a bridge is unaffordable?

- The overpass has been built, but after the accident not a lot of changes were done other then the adding of speed humps which got closer together as you got closer to the crossing [can be seen in Google Earth as the humps were painted white], Boomgates were fast tracked (IIRC State Government were going to install boomgates at known black-spots) however LED lights were not used (LED has only been used in the past 4 years but not many crossing in rural areas have these), We are not the ones to say what would have been more affordable design of the crossing unless it came from the State Government or its departments. Bidgee (talk) 06:38, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
- What about some "Active Advance Warning Signals" located the odd hundred metres from the crossing, and which have a pair of flashing yellow lights which operate when the flashing red lights operate? A new level crossing with lights and booms and hopefully with no design flaws costs about $1m, which is much less than a bridge. Clearly many level crossings are going to remain and not be converted to bridges. Tabletop (talk) 07:07, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
- Please note that the talk page is really about article improvments not your personal view. The bridge has been built (and has been for sometime) with the Government having it's reasons (One of them is because it's located on a state highway). Bidgee (talk) 07:19, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
