Where did Florida come from?

[edit]

Can't find where the actual landform of Florida came from. 1) When glacier was around, water levels were "further down" the coastline. When they rose, they destroyed what few remnants, the archaic people chose to leave around.

On the other hand, Florida "rose out of the ocean" at one point. High points rose first, like Clermont and the sandy ridge. When did these events occur and where are they/should be documented? Student7 (talk) 23:44, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What you ate asking has to do with geology, not geography. I believe the article Geology of Florida has the answer you are looking for. --TimL (talk) 02:05, 15 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:Florida topographic map-en.svg will be appearing as picture of the day on March 3, 2013. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2013-03-03. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. Topographic map of Florida
A map showing the geography of Florida, a state in the United States. Situated on a peninsula between the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Straits of Florida, Florida has an extensive coastline. Its highest point, Britton Hill, is the lowest highpoint of any U.S. state. Florida is home to over 19 million people, living in 410 municipalities.Map: Eric Gaba

Adding Sea Level Rise

[edit]

Should there be a section dedicated to the potential impacts that sea level rise could have on the state? Pvilafl (talk) 19:50, 22 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
