Sailor Moon?
"In the late 1990s, Geena Davis was cast as Queen Beryl in a never-produced American live-action movie adaptation of Sailor Moon."
My understanding was that she merely suggested that she'd like to play Beryl in Sailor Moon Live Action movie, if one was ever made. GracieLizzie 17:11, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
Swedish?
"While an exchange student in Sweden, Davis became fluent in Swedish."
Fluent? Really? On an exchange? Or did she just learn some Swedish while on an exchange in Sweden? I suggest a change to something to that effect – unless somebody can provide evidence – as saying that she achieved fluency in a foreign language in such a short time stretches plausability. -unsigned User:130.243.184.248 at 15:33 on 25 February 2006
- Check out geena-davis.net (I believe that's the right address). There's a fellow that posts to the message boards that attended school with her in Sweden and also a couple of articles with interviews with her swedish host-family-members. I know for sure that her speaking is mentioned in one of the articles and someone (I believe it was her host-brother) testifies to the fact that she speaks nearly perfect swedish. In fact, I believe he says that she could only speak it better if she were a native. And that even now, she continues to speak in swedish when she communicates with any of them, which she still does.
- Ashley User:12.44.208.222 at 13:00 on 9 May 2006- Fluency means different things in different cultures. Anglo-Saxons are usually so amazed that one of their own kind knows any foreign languages, that they call it "fluent" when someone can manage to make themselves understood in another language. But in cultures where almost everyone can get by in at least one foreign language, and where college or university graduates often have a decent command of two or three foreign languages (such as in The Netherlands and Scandinavia), "fluency" means speaking the language as well as a native, with no or very little accent. Having known a number of American exchange students in Sweden, I would say that Geena Davis after a year probably had a decent command of Swedish, i.e. enough to understand 60-70 percent of interviews in TV and enough to participate in conversations with school mates, provided that they show some patience. So, one could say that she speaks Swedish, or perhaps even "master" it, but she's not fluent. Thomas Blomberg (talk) 01:19, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
What's up with this trivia?
"She is a Democrat and is the only woman candidate to come close to election to the Oval Office as compared to Hillary Rodham Clinton and Condoleezza Rice"
I must admit that I have a hard time parsing this. Neither Clinton nor Rice has ever run for the presidency, so it doesn't seem to make any sense. Does it mean that she was almost nominated? Presumably that would be worth mentioning outside the trivia section! I'm guess it's just about the TV series she was in, in which case it's just factually incorrect. -unsigned by User:66.179.181.41 at 22:55 on 23 June 2006
- Has Davis in fact EVER held an elected office? Or is this some inane spew about her stint on the poorly received Commander in Chief? I'd point out that Rice was appointed as Secretary of State (and that she was the first African-American woman ever to hold that position) and NOT elected, as that position is not an elected one. I might also point out that in 1984, had the Mondale/Ferraro ticket not been defeated Geraldine Ferraro would have become the first woman to be elected to the office of Vice President. That's a lot closer than the actress playing an imaginary character would get. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.94.56.72 (talk) 03:21, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
I BELIEVE IT ONLY MEANS THAT AN IMAGINARY FEMALE PRESIDENT IS THE CLOSEST WE'VE ACTUALLY COME TO HAVING ONE. THOUGH NOW THAT HILARY ACTUALLY DID ATTEMPT A RUN, THAT WOULD BE WRONG, BUT AT THE TIME... NOT QUITE SO LITERAL, GUYS. 12.30.182.98 (talk) 18:42, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Pet Shop Boys music video
That's not Geena in the Pet Shop Boys video, IMDb is not always a trustworthy source. See the video and more screenshots here and judge for yourselves: http://www.geena-davis.net/index.php/actor/could-it-be/ Birgitsnet 17:39, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
I deleted this trivia (again) after it was reverted (again); it is definitely not her in that video - even IMDb has removed that piece of information from their site (meaning the reference is of no worth). Birgitsnet 19:51, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
Olympics team Archery semi-finalist?
I feel that this introduction gives a pretty inaccurate picture of her archery career. She was in 24th in US Olympic Trials from which 3 qualified to the Olympics, so should she be introduced starting with the "Olympic" tag. Quite many athletes could introduce themselves "I am an Olympic team finalist", but since that's very far from being an Olympian, I don't think many choose to do so. WHICH IS WHY THERE IS A DISTINCTION BETWEEN "OLYMPIAN" AND "OLYMPIC TEAM FINALIST". I BELIEVE MOST PEOPLE OF AVERAGE INTELLIGENCE COULD TELL THAT AN OLYMPIAN ACTUALLY PARTICIPATED, WHILE A FINALIST DID NOT. ALSO...I DON'T BELIEVE SHE REFERS TO HERSELF THIS WAY. THAT WOULD BE THE INTERNET. DO YOU OVERANALYZE EVERYTHING YOU READ ON THE INTERNET? 12.30.182.98 (talk) 18:36, 3 June 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.30.182.98 (talk) 18:35, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Birth year
There seems to no source straightly to birthdate. There was one 'Geena Davis biography' from film-reference.com, 1957? (one source says 1956), not said what their 'one source' is. Yahoo movies and IMDB though list 1956 but I thought they nowadays get info from wikipedia.
I know that the birth year was always 1957 until recently. Though it was 'known' Halle Berry was born 1968, when it really was 1966. 85.217.14.88 (talk) 15:29, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

Unreliable source
Iisatal (talk · contribs) has edit warred to include the source filmreference.com, despite that fact that Iistal himself identifying the source as unreliable multiple times. Indeed it is unreliable, as discussed several times at WP:RSN, including WP:Reliable sources/Noticeboard/Archive 93#filmreference.com. Iistal's explanation for using the source is, "Many pages use that site as a source for various things." Sundayclose (talk) 03:23, 23 April 2016 (UTC)

This is unrelated. But what is related is Richard Emmolo. Any pictures of him? This is him: https://www.linkedin.com/in/richard-emmolo-27733248 (you can read in books and stuff that Richard is a restaurant owner in New York City), not https://www.linkedin.com/in/richard-emmolo-6152a451 - as proved by https://www.thefreelibrary.com/GOOD+LUCK+NO.4;+First+Mr+Davis'+tongue+in+cheek+message+to+Geena's...-a078012153 --User123o987name (talk) 12:16, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
Say what?
- [Davis] played a powerful female movie executive in the critically acclaimed comedy In a World... (2013), the directorial debut of Lake Bell. Bell found her only dialogue to be her favorite in the film and called it her "soapbox moment".
Something's obviously wrong there; I just don't know what it is. – AndyFielding (talk) 12:08, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
