Compression applications
[edit]This is apparently relevant to Block Truncation Coding[1]. The general idea seems to be that it's a route to an image compression scheme with a formal upper error bound. - In fact, the article had nothing to do with Gauss-Jacobi quadrature, so I rewrote it completely. -- Jitse Niesen (talk) 16:34, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
