Develop or merge back?

[edit]

Are there any plans to develop this article further? If it's just going to remain in its current state, then I think it ought to be merged back to giant planet, from which it was split, since the latter article contains just as much information about gas giants (and more) as this one does. Plans, of course. But this is Wikipedia and we're all volunteers, and people (myself included) may not get around to it. Care to help expand it? --JorisvS (talk) 09:05, 6 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"Mars" listed as a Gas Giant on Line 1 !

[edit]

Can someone correct this please. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DebMet (talkcontribs) 01:39, 16 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Visual image of a gas giant, missing here, present at other place....

[edit]

I noticed a very detailed description trying to visualize how a gas giant looks. However, there is a very nice picture of the described in this article, but it is shown only under “metallic hydrogen” item. I think for the benefit of the readers of this article, the proper place for that picture should be in this article(at least..), since it is describing exactly what is described here in words and people probably are struggling to understand what is been said. Rain on Uranus

[edit]

As Uranus is not a gas giant, but an ice giant, should there really be a section about rain on Uranus? Ngc752 (talk) 12:49, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Section on gas giant formation

[edit]

This article seems to be missing information on the process and conditions of gas giant formation in general. While there is a page on formation of *the* solar system, I can't seem to find coverage of gas giant formation as a general category. Quesoteric (talk) 16:50, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
