UP 2804
[edit]Union Pacific U28C #2804 has been preserved at the National Transportation Museum in Kirkwood, Missouri. The unit had been used as a training aid for Union Pacific shop forces and was donated without its long hood. --SSW9389 22:58, 19 November 2005 (UTC)
Phases
[edit]Phase I U28Cs include the first 28 built between February and July 1966 for Chicago Burlington & Quincy and Northern Pacific. Those units use the same carbody as the Phase III U25C and are 64' 4" long. The Phase I units have a 3500 gallon fuel tank. Phase II units built between May and November 1966 are 67' 3" long and have a 4000 gallon fuel tank. --SSW9389 19:44, 8 March 2017 (UTC)
